So my fellow Gears, we all know what is around the corner. Valentine ’s Day. Now if you are lucky, it’s easy to come up with ingenious ideas to surprise the Gear in your life. But, what about those of us that may be a little Valentine’s Day challenged? If that’s you, then you are in the right place. Here are some ideas to do with your Gear for the holiday. Some can be completely free, some could cost a little money. Do whats best for you, and remember that no matter what, Sera finally has a tomorrow because of you.

A Walk and Picnic on the Shores of Azura -  Low on cash this year? No Problem! Grab a bag, pack a lunch or dinner and take your Gear to the beach!  Maybe pack a blanket to sit on, and enjoy knowing you’ve finally secured a tomorrow for Sera. No idea what to pack for food? Well, if you have a Sam in your life, maybe make her a Carmine Burger (take your favorite burger, and add LOTS of Bacon) with some of that Bacon you could have gotten from the stranded for her.  If you have a Dom in your life, now’s the time to tell him that the Lambent didn’t f-up all his tomatoes! Make a nice salad with some veggies, and either leave it at that, or add some of delicious Human (chicken, not really human) Fingers. Top it off with some Imulsion (Honey Mustard) Dressing. Don’t forget dessert! Get some of Dom’s Famous Pumpkin Pie at the store! Then, go ahead sit back and relax on the beach and watch the sunset or sunrise over Sera’s new tomorrow. Note: if a beach is unavailable, I’m sure a non-grub/glowie infested park will also work as well.

A Nice Night back in Anvil Gate- So, you want to spend a night at home.  Perfect! Maybe it’s time for some nice one on one campaign, or maybe marathon all 3 games and see how far you get. Is your Lover in Arms a long distance thing? Then maybe you can send them a nifty Gears Throat communicator as a token of your love or appreciation.  Then you can take until the wee hours of the morning to talk, and play the night away. Try some campaign, maybe show off your inner Beast in beast more, or play Wingman.  Wingman could be the perfect way to show him or her you are the only teammate they need. You could also get them something sweet, and somewhat Gears themed, some Black Cherry popcorn from Great Lakes Popcorn Company, or make some of your own if you are cooking/baking inclined! Just tell them you popped some of the corn Dom grew after that on-deck battle. Who knew that Locust blood tasted like cherries!

Getting Creative on the Sovereign- We all know when you are one of the last human vessels, you run low of supplies and have to get creative with what you do. So, if you have a creative streak, and want to show that to your Gear try some of these. Try making them a card, make some funny or cute little Gears references.  Ask them to “Be your Wingman” with a card. Maybe take an old NERF gun and turn it into a fun, non-lethal, replica of their favorite Gears gun. Don’t forget to make yourself one, because war is on once you had it to your Gear. And who wouldn’t want a NERF Boltok Pistol? Or a Sawed off?  You could plan a scavenger hunt around the house for them to find a surprise. I suggest printing out a picture of a COG tag to write the clues on and hide. You could even do that to lead them to where you have a secret surprise dinner planned out of the house. But, if someone mentions the cute house on the corner and wanting to grow old there with you and your eventual children, don’t pull a Baird and say you’ll have your big bottle of suicide pills ready.

A Movie Night in Mercy- So you can do this either at home, or out on the town.  If you go out, I suggest that you park a ways away from the theater and walk with your Gear there. Just watch out for any Imulsion leaks in the sidewalk. If you are at home (or if you are lucky enough to have a drive-in theater) you can cuddle up under a Crimson Omen blanket and enjoy some quality cuddle time. If you are in a theater, break some rules and sneak in your own snacks just for fun. If not, then pull a Jace, and go kick vending machines for that last bit of candy, that may or may not be 10 years old. Every little bit counts right? Especially if it is possibly the last bit of candy in all the world, just remember to share.  Maybe show that Gears have softer side and watch a sweet romantic film, or a romantic comedy. Or you can take a chance and watch that action packed drama or over the top action movie you both love. Pick up your favorites, or go see something new.  Just remember no matter what, you show that Gear that you are in it with them, til the end.

For all of you playing Stranded this year, don’t let it get you down. You can spend your day like I will be, which is playing multiplayer all day until my thumbs cramp and will no longer allow me to play. You could also find other single Gears and knock out some of those achievements you’ve been trying for. Or, maybe treat yourself to some wonderful Gears gifts for yourself. I will also be making myself a Carmine Burger. The more Bacon, the better.
