Katy Boyd, or as some of you know her â€œbunnyxablazeâ€ is one of the great lady gears we have here in the community. As avid gamer with a long list of games she loves to play, host tourneys for, and just to talk about, she has really touched a lot of gamers lives in some way. On top of helping set up events, being a Frag Doll Cadette, trying to grow the community as a whole, and offering to help teach those of us that are noobz, she is a very sweet, funny, and kind person. She was at PAX East this weekend and met some of us, we had a blast. A majority of us here at GCON have played with Katy at some point, and would love to play again. Sadly though, the morning of April 10th, her house burnt to the ground. She was able to rescue her dogs, but nothing else. Her household items, clothing, gaming equipment, and cell phone are gone. What we want to do it raise money to help her get some of these items back and get her set up to move forward. If you have ever met her, you know what we are talking about. Letâ€™s all show Katy what this community can do. Anything helps and is always greatly appreciated.

To all those that will say she has insurance they will get her everything, dont count on it they will get her a lot yes but it will take time and I am sure they will be more concerned with the house itself as its a bigger expense. There will be things she needs in the next days to come like clothes and health and beauty supplies(not that she needs beauty supplies have you seen her *hot*). Lets not forget about the puppies they lost everything to so lets get behind one of the biggest supporters of this community.

Yup, Me and my wife had first handÂ experienceÂ with Insurance not covering most of our loses due to a storm… Â For instance if my wife lost her Baseball Collection (Game used, and Autographed from games and conventions) they would pay for Blank Replacement balls… Â Unless you pay extra for the coverage which theyÂ don’tÂ tell you about, you get a bear fraction of what you had….

True, I have no idea how insurance works in the US. Nobody forces anybody to help out. It’s your own preference. It’s different in Europe I guess, much easier to get back on track, fast insurance payment and government funds.

But the insurance won’t cover the costs that she have now. She’ll have to buy new clothes, dog food, food for herself. She’ll have to buy everything that you use everyday. Like toothbrush and so on. I know it may sound like small stuff but when you add the things, it will be a lot more. And not everything she had in her home will be replaced. She’ll have to buy new furniture and stuff like that because many insurances won’t cover the things that you’ve lost, only your house.
