The Ultimate Gaming Challenge (UGC) Niagara is the Largest Xbox Tournament ever held in the Niagara Region. With huge prizes and online streaming to thousands, this will be an event like you have never seen before.The District School Board of Niagara, in partnership with Jet Set Studio and Kiwanis Niagara is excited to present this opportunity to students and young adults. Times
- Registration begins onsite @ 8:00 am on Saturday
- Bring your favourite controller and headset.
- Bring money for snacks.
- Bring proof of age. You must be 17 or older.
- Bring your Team Spirit.
- The Games will Begin at 10:00 am on Saturday and finish up around 4:00 pm
- The Games will continue at 10:00 on Sunday and the tournament is expected to finish up around 1:00 pm.
Prizes
- Over $30,000.00 in cash prizes and accessories will be won.
- The winning team in each division can win up to $1,500.00 per person. (Prizes are awarded as a percentage of registration).
- There will be special door prizes awarded throughout the day as donated by our sponsors and vendors.
Vendors
The latest in gaming technology and accessories, along with gaming experts, will be onsite. Please visit our Sponsorship page to see what Vendors will be at the event. Please note that our sponsorship page will be updated constantly as more vendors are invited.
Spectators
Spectators are most welcome to attend UGC Niagara. They will have the opportunity to walk the gaming floor, watch the large-screen and green-screen gaming, visit the vendor booths and explore The Gamification of Learning. Spectator passes will be sold at the door for $10.00, and you must be over 17 to enter the main gaming event room.
Lunch
Lunch will be provided free of charge to all registered participants in the gaming challenge. The Marriott will be serving lunch in the lobby outside of the gaming room and you will receive a lunch voucher when you register in person on the day of the event. The Marriott will also operate a concession stand onsite for you to purchase additional food and beverages.
The Gamification of Learning
Brock University will be onsite to present The Gamification of Learning. They will be showcasing how technology, including games, can help us learn using the Xbox Kinect system and programs developed by student teachers.

Accommodations
Rooms are available at the Marriott Gateway on the Falls for a special rate of $125 per night. Overnight guests will be charged the standard Hotel rate of $20. per vehicle nightly.
Please note: April 9th is the cut-off date to receive the special rate by the Marriott. Rooms booked after that date will be at regular rates, and there is no guarantee of availability.

Parking
On-site self parking will be complimentary for day guests of UGC Niagara. Please be sure to let them know that you are with UGC Niagara when you park.
